    Practical Scrum-Scrum Team: Way to Produce Successful and Quality Software

    Scrum is the most popular agile methodology in software industry. By using scrum practices, several companies have improved their quality and productivity. This paper presents a practical view inside the Scrum practices, specifically, the team size, team structure and description of roles in Scrum teams are explained. The paper is based on our experiences in multiple projects executed in Scrum Agile methodology. Scrum is most suitable for products with team size of 3-9 members. For larger products, Scrum provides a mechanism called Scrum of Scrums. Scrum of Scrums distribute the large work/project into several teams and to control the quality and speed of each team, regular meetings are organized amongst the representatives of each team. We also present the guidelines for work distribution for the Scrum of Scrum (SoS) teams

    Preparation and Application of Electrodes in Capacitive Deionization (CDI): a State-of-Art Review

    As a promising desalination technology, capacitive deionization (CDI) have shown practicality and cost-effectiveness in brackish water treatment. Developing more efficient electrode materials is the key to improving salt removal performance. This work reviewed current progress on electrode fabrication in application of CDI. Fundamental principal (e.g. EDL theory and adsorption isotherms) and process factors (e.g. pore distribution, potential, salt type and concentration) of CDI performance were presented first. It was then followed by in-depth discussion and comparison on properties and fabrication technique of different electrodes, including carbon aerogel, activated carbon, carbon nanotubes, graphene and ordered mesoporous carbon. Finally, polyaniline as conductive polymer and its potential application as CDI electrode-enhancing materials were also discussed

    International Consensus Statement on Rhinology and Allergy: Rhinosinusitis

    Background: The 5 years since the publication of the first International Consensus Statement on Allergy and Rhinology: Rhinosinusitis (ICAR‐RS) has witnessed foundational progress in our understanding and treatment of rhinologic disease. These advances are reflected within the more than 40 new topics covered within the ICAR‐RS‐2021 as well as updates to the original 140 topics. This executive summary consolidates the evidence‐based findings of the document. Methods: ICAR‐RS presents over 180 topics in the forms of evidence‐based reviews with recommendations (EBRRs), evidence‐based reviews, and literature reviews. The highest grade structured recommendations of the EBRR sections are summarized in this executive summary. Results: ICAR‐RS‐2021 covers 22 topics regarding the medical management of RS, which are grade A/B and are presented in the executive summary. Additionally, 4 topics regarding the surgical management of RS are grade A/B and are presented in the executive summary. Finally, a comprehensive evidence‐based management algorithm is provided. Conclusion: This ICAR‐RS‐2021 executive summary provides a compilation of the evidence‐based recommendations for medical and surgical treatment of the most common forms of RS

    Realizing modeling and mapping tools to study the upsurge of noise pollution as a result of open-cast mining and transportation activities

    Introduction: In open-cast mines, noise pollution has become a serious concern due to the extreme use of heavy earth moving machinery (HEMM). Materials and Methods: This study is focused to measure and assess the effects of the existing noise levels of major operational mines in the Keonjhar, Sundergadh, and Mayurbhanj districts of Odisha, India. The transportation noise levels were also considered in this study, which was predicted using the modified Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) model. Result and Discussion: It was observed that noise induced by HEMM such as rock breakers, jackhammers, dumpers, and excavators, blasting noise in the mining terrain, as well as associated transportation noise became a major source of annoyance to the habitants living in proximity to the mines. The noise produced by mechanized mining operations was observed between 74.3 and 115.2 dB(A), and its impact on residential areas was observed between 49.4 and 58.9 dB(A). In addition, the noise contour maps of sound level dispersion were demonstrated with the utilization of advanced noise prediction software tools for better understanding. Conclusion: Finally, the predicted values at residential zone and traffic noise are correlated with observed values, and the coefficient of determination, R2, was calculated to be 0.6891 and 0.5967, respectively

    3, 4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-thiones, derivatives were synthesized by one pot solvent free green modified Biginelli cyclocondensation reaction catalyzed by triphenylphosphine as Lewis base. The structures of the synthesized compounds have been elucidated by IR, 1H NMR and elemental analysis. Synthesized compounds were screened for their antimicrobial screened against the E.coli and staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhi, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli and antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger, Penecillium crysogenum, Aspergillus flavus, and Candida albicans
